CBS Student Council 5K Colour Run Raises €4,444 for two local causes.
The CBS Mitchelstown Student Council would like to extend a huge thank you to every single person in the school community who supported their 5K Colour Run Fundraiser, that took place a few weeks ago. In total, students raised a staggering €4,444, with €2,222 going to each of the chosen causes. The school would also like to extend thanks to Claire Downey-Smith for coming to the school to collect the cheque on behalf of Caring_for_Claire, and to Nadine Bohane for coming on behalf of Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland. The Council would also like to extend their congratulations to Luke Twomey, Fifth Year, who won a hamper for raising the most money, and to Evie Walsh, who was the sponsor picked to win a hamper having sponsored her brother Luke from 1A3.
Well done to all involved in this huge, but worthwhile, undertaking.

CBS Student Darts Tournament 2025
The CBS would to extend belated congratulations to Robbie O’Neill for winning the student darts championship, and to Harry Brennan for coming second. This is the second year of the event, which was the idea of two Student Council members Gary O’Donnell and Darren Farrell, who organised the event in its entirety, including a teacher v student league. This is a huge undertaking from the two students for an event that takes weeks to run and facilitate. The championship will run again in the last term next year, but for now, the school would like to congratulate Robbie and Harry, and sincerely thank Gary and Darren.
