Commiserations and congratulations to CBS Mitchelstown GAA players
Last week was a mixed bag for sport in CBS Mitchelstown, with a comprehensive win for the U14 hurlers, and a disappointing Munster semi final result for the senior footballers.
The school would first like to congratulate the U14 hurlers and their trainers Mr Duggan, Mr Howard, Mr Fenton, Mr Geary and Mr Keating, on their comprehensive win against Glanmire CC last Monday, where they finished on a scoreline of 6-17 to 4-6.
However, the school would also like to extend congratulations to the senior footballers and their trainers Mr Duggan and Mr Bohane on reaching the Munster semi-final of the TUS Corn Dhonncha Uí Nuanáin (19 B F). While the players and management were undoubtedly disappointed to lose out to The Abbey CBS last Friday, they should take solace in the fact that they fought hard on the day, just like they did all season. Hence, while commiserations are necessary, it must be acknowledged that it was a fantastic achievement to get to such a high stage in the competition, which is something they should all take pride in.
