CBS Roundup

Picture One: Congratulations to CBS Mitchelstown students Tomasz Wakulinski and Adam Coughlan, both of whom received a phenomenal eight Distinctions and one Higher Merit in their Junior Cycle. 

Picture Two: The CBS were delighted to welcome back Dieudo Kabundi to the school before midterm, pictured here with his CBS basketball coaches Mr O’Neill and Ms Piggott. Dieudo left the school and our shores last year to take up a basketball scholarship in New Jersey in the States. This is a phenomenal opportunity for Dieudo, and the school are incredibly proud of his achievements. They will be looking out for him in the NBA in the future!

Pictures three, four and five:

The CBS Student Council once again organised their annual Hallowe’en Fancy Dress Competition before mid-term.  Well done to all students who dressed up, especially to Jake Thornton who was the winner of the best senior costume, and Donagh Walsh who had the best junior costume. Congratulations to the Student Council for their ‘Colours for Gaza’ non uniform day which took place the week before this, where the council raised €511 for the UNWRA Gaza Emergency Appeal

Picture Six: 

Congratulations to the CBS senior soccer team, and their trainers Mr. Bohane, Mr, Hanrahan , and Mr. Fenton, who beat Coláiste Treasa, Kanturk on penalties in the first round of the Cork Colleges competition. It was 3-3 at full time. 4-4 after extra time, with the win on penalties.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the many quizzes and games for the duration of Maths Week,  especially the following winners:

*Jamie Kelly who won the lowest unique positive whole number with 47
* Oisin Power who won ‘Puzzle of the Day’
* Hubert Zarnowski who won first place for Second Yrs in the Magggie Gough Competition
* Oisin Maher won first place for TYs in the Maggie Gough Competition
* Tadhg Dooly snd Rija Ramangalahy who were joint winners for Fifth Years in the Maggie Gough Competition
