CBS Mitchelstown and ‘A Conversation with Your MEP 2025
Last Friday, the 5th December, CBS Mitchelstown were delighted to host our MEP for Ireland South, Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, for ‘A Conversation with Your MEP 2025’ in the school. Here all of the CBS 5th Years, Politics & Society class, and Student Council, got to listen to, and engage dialectically with a sitting democratically elected representative, who spoke about her own career, Europe, internet safety, the threat of the far right, among other topics.
In every instance Cynthia Ní Mhurchú was highly engaging, whose energy was palpable. The group were also lucky enough to hear from our own local representative, and parent of CBS past pupils, Cllr Deirdre O’Brien, who was equally as vibrant and engaging.
On the whole, this was a fantastic opportunity for the students of the CBS, and they would like to thank Fine Fáil and their team, for facilitating same.

Picture Three, Four, and Five: CBS First Year team building and sports day took place on November 24th, which was a lovely moment of bonding before the November tests got underway. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all! Many thanks to Mr Bohane for organising.
Picture Six and Seven: CBS TYs attended the STEM South West Careers Expo in City Hall in Cork. The boys had the chance to speak to many different companies about different career options in STEM, and see what these careers look like. This with followed with some bowling and a trip to Marina Market!
