CBS Student Council Christmas Hot Chocolate Event
On the last day of term, 19th December, the CBS Student Council organised a ’Christmas Hot Chocolate’ event which really brought the festive spirit to the school. The council were delighted to be able to do this, not only for all CBS Secondary students , but also for their neighbours from CBS Primary, Mitchelstown, whose 5th and 6th class students also joined in the festivities.
Many thanks to all the members of the Student Council who were incredibly helpful and diligent throughout the day; to Rose McCarthy , Tina O’ Mahony, and Sinead Cahill, who were invaluable in having the event run so smoothly; to the Firgrove Hotel for the pots, hot plates, and ladles; and to the CBS Secondary Parents’ Council for sponsoring the hot chocolate, cream, marshmallows, and chocolates. However, the ultimate thanks must be given to Declan Masterson, who was instrumental in the whole day, coming in at the ungodly hour of 5.30am to ensure all was ready for the start of school. On the whole today was a lovely and fitting end to the first term, that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
CBS Secondary Whole School Wellbeing Day
On Wednesday, 17th Dec, all CBS Secondary students, teachers, and SNAs, headed to Cork for their annual Wellbeing Day. The outing included ice skating, the cinema, shopping in Mahon Point, eating in the Marina Market, and bowling in AirTastic. To have all school members head out on the same day is no easy feat, so sincere thanks to Ms Sinead Ryan for organising, to all staff for facilitating, and to all students for their exemplary behaviour and good cheer!

CBS Charitable Events:
The last few weeks really saw the CBS school community come together to think of others at this time of the year. This culminated in the annual SVP food appeal, which finished on 19th December , and the Student ‘Council Christmas Jumper Day’ on the 12th December, the latter of which raised over €400 for the ‘Dillon Quirke Foundation’. Many thanks to all who contributed.
