Christian Brothers' Secondary School (C.B.S.) Mitchelstown is a Catholic secondary school for boys under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST). Founded in 1857, the school has an established tradition of academic excellence, achieved in a supportive learning environment.
The 2017 Transition Year 5km Family Fun Run/Walk was held on Thursday March 30th. Many thanks to all who supported the event by running or walking the course.
First home was Shane Hanley of Galtee Runners in a fine time of 19.02. He was followed by Fifth Year student Dylan Mullins in 19.11 and Alan O'Brien in 19.45.

A large crowd was present at Mitchelstown CBS on Friday last September 30th as the school honoured students’ achievements in academic excellence, special achievements and community involvement. Students and immediate past-pupils, parents and family members, staff and special guests were present to recognise achievements from the 2015/16 school year.

The Mitchelstown C.B.S. Young Social Innovators award winning team were recognised for their achievements by Cork County Mayor, Cllr. John Paul O’Shea, at a reception in County Hall on June 9th. The group of four boys – Richard Maher, David Blackburne, Colin Devaney and Kevin Coleman – together with their mentor, TY co-ordinator Ms. Carmel Ryan and family members joined 5 other winners recognised for their achievements in sporting and cultural activities from across Cork county, at the invitation of Cllr. O’Shea.
