The 2017 Transition Year 5km Family Fun Run/Walk was held on Thursday March 30th. Many thanks to all who supported the event by running or walking the course.
First home was Shane Hanley of Galtee Runners in a fine time of 19.02. He was followed by Fifth Year student Dylan Mullins in 19.11 and Alan O'Brien in 19.45.

Mitchelstown CBS senior footballers created history in St. Conleth's Park Newbridge on March 26th, as their one point win over St. Mark's Warrenpoint ensured their victory in the All-Ireland senior C football final. This is a first All-Ireland title in the school's history, and indeed the first national sports team title to come to Mitchelstown.
Congratulations to Mitchelstown CBS senior footballers, who captured the Munster crown with a comprehensive win over Presentation Miltown at Rathkeale on Saturday March 5th.
Mitchelstown CBS senior hurlers gave their all but had to give way to a very strong Abbey CBS side in the Munster senior hurling final at Ballyagran on Feb. 26th.
Mitchelstown CBS Transition Year students joined many others around the country in organising the Goal jersey day in the school on October 9th. €510 was raised for the charity, and Goal will use all monies raised from the national event to aid their response to the Syrian refugee crisis.
The students of the CBS Secondary, Mitchelstown would like to express their sincere gratitude to an anonymous local benefactor who recently contributed a very generous sum to the school. The money has been used to purchase a broad selection of books for both junior and senior cycle students. It is hoped that the novels will be used and enjoyed by students for many years to come!
Congratulations to the Mitchelstown CBS footballers and their coaches Mr. Bohane and Mr. Duggan on qualification for the Munster senior final. They secured their place following a hard-fought but ultimately well-deserved win over MICC Lisdoonvarna at Rathkeale on Saturday Feb. 13th, and will face Pres Milltown in the decider.
